Wildlife journey in the Peruvian Amazon
You will start your trip at 6 am to the cities of Moyobamba and Rioja, located at about 100 km away from Tarapoto.
First step of your wildlife journey in the Peruvian Amazon: the association of protection and conservation of the Rio Romero, in charge of Santa Elena natural reserve. You will enjoy an incredible boat ride on the river, at the heart of the rainforest, during which you will observe different species of Amazonian wildlife, and see some little monkeys above your head! The boat ride takes place in complete silence in order to appreciate the wonders of Nature and not to frighten the species living in the reserve. You will have a lunch break at the Yacumama tourist complex.
You will then take the road to Palestina caves or caverns, where you will discover amazing stalactites, stalagmites and other natural phenomena! The necessary material for the visit will be provided (hard hat, flashlight and boots). In case of nice weather, you will end your visit at the river Tioyacu source.
